Pablo Cartaya Visits the Wood River Valley

By:

As a part of the SVWC’s Eye on the Future Project, Pablo Cartaya danced his way into the Wood River Valley this past Tuesday, October 8th, winning admiration from many readers – young and old alike. He began his day at Wood River Middle School, where he spoke to almost 800 students from Wood River Middle School, Ernest Hemingway STEAM School, and The Sage School. Then he headed to visit 25 Spanish dual-immersion eighth graders, where he spoke primarily in Spanish with the students and gifted each of them a signed copy of one of his books (donated by SVWC).

That evening, Cartaya presented to the public at The Community Library, some of whom were students from earlier that day coming to see him again. After his talk, Cartaya signed books for many of the attendees.

As a gift to the community, SVWC donated two signed hardcover copies of Pablo’s newest book Each Tiny Spark to the three local libraries and each middle school. Click HERE to read more about students’ reactions to Pablo’s visit.
