to an extraordinary response the four-day conference passes, which
include large events, small breakouts, breakfasts and lunches, were
quickly sold out on a first-come, first-served basis.
However, we are delighted to
offer you a different and new opportunity. Barring bad weather, we
will be holding the majority of our major events in the beautiful
new Pavilion where there is a greater seating capacity than was
available to us before. As a result we will be able to sell single
tickets for all events in the Pavilion near the main entry to the
Pavilion at just $25 each. We plan to
hold 10 to 12 events there throughout the weekend and there should
be more than enough single-event tickets to accommodate everyone.
We imagine you are asking
yourself the obvious question: If they can sell single event tickets
to all these talks, then why don’t they just sell more four-day
passes to the whole conference? There are several reasons: We cannot
accommodate more than 800-plus people in our small breakout sessions
and still keep them intimate. We would also be over-taxing the good
nature of the Sun Valley Resort chefs if we were to add another few
hundred people to the breakfasts and lunches. And when we use
facilities such as the Opera House or the Limelight Room, there are
space restrictions. So we are thrilled to be in the Pavilion this
year, knowing that almost everyone who wants to attend the SVWC
talks in that venue will be able to buy a ticket.
These tickets will be sold one hour before the start of each Pavilion talk and we hope you
will take advantage of the great variety of speakers in this new
space. We will be posting the schedule on our website as we go along
so that you will be able to pick and chose your favorites.
A special effort is made to
reach out to students and teachers in the Wood River Valley and they
will be seated free of charge on a standby basis. ID will be
required.
Cancellation Policy: If you
need to cancel a conference pass and you let us know by July 1,
2008, we will be happy to send you a refund. No refunds will be
issued after July 1, 2008. A $25 charge will apply to cancelled
orders.
