Scholarships & Fellowships

Scholarships

SVWC is pleased to offer a limited number of scholarships to aspiring writers. Six  scholarships, funded by one generous donor,  are provided to the Fulfillment Fund, a Los Angeles-based organization that mentors young people of exceptional promise. You can see that promise shining through with a group of 2011 scholars with author Anne Taylor Fleming and Brookings Institution president Strobe Talbott. A number of scholarships have also been provided by individuals in memory of loved ones and we are so proud to celebrate their lives in this way.

A scholarship provides admission to all conference events including breakfast and lunch on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. For further information about our scholarship program please contact us at the following:

Fellowships

The conference has proven to be a rich literary experience that we would like to share with our country’s finest emerging writers – those who are past the beginning, but have not yet reached the acknowledged high point of their writing careers. There is no application for this fellowship and each year the selection committee chooses from two to four young writers of exceptional promise from around the country.
