he conference has proven to be a rich literary experience which we would like to share with our country's finest emerging writers, those who are past the beginning but have not yet reached the acknowledged high point of their writing careers. There is no application for this fellowship and each year the selection committee chooses from two to four young writers of exceptional promise from around the country.
